Are You A Dynamic Duo?
Abraham and Sarah, David and Barsheba, Priscilla and Aquila, The Copelands, The Hagins, The Roberts, The Obama's, The Meyer's etc. etc. are all couples whose partnership have made them stronger and made them achieve things they probably wouldn't have if they had been paired with any other or been alone.
Marriage is the most powerful and important partnership of all times as marriage is ordained of God - Genesis 2 (KJV):
18And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
19And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
20And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
21And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
Unfortunately, some couples don't understand the divine order of marriage so they compete against each other and take on a role that was not originally made for them. You find situations where the wife wants to lead and the husband is happy to take a back seat no matter what decision or action required to be taken. This eventually leads to resentment on the part of the spouse whose position is usurped or who has to take on a role not originally made for them.
However, great news for the couples who understand the divine order of marriage and excel in their respective roles and gifts because their spouse encourages them and gives them the freedom to shine at what they do best within and outside the home. They understand to succeed as a dynamic duo they have to encourage their spouse to be the very best they can be and be supportive, loving and their biggest cheer leader. They are also strong and confident in their own abilities and don't have to put or pull down their spouse to feel any sense of achievement - Ephesians 5:22-33; 1 Peter 3:1-7.
If this is your marriage, you have the makings of a great marriage, if this isn't your marriage, the good news is you can take steps to restructuring your home according to God's order. You need to understand both husband and wife are important, however, God has made the husband the head and the leader and the wife, a suitable helper for him and this order without strife or envy will help to make you both a dynamic duo.
