Some people can successfully question the standards of industry; they can challenge the present and build on the future effectively. These path breakers are successful in standing away from the rest of the crowd and establish their position firmly amidst of many people. The company Oakley Juliet was a result of such an innovation. A scientist called Jim Jannard had the courage to question the American standard and quality during his period. People mainly referred to him as a mad scientist. No one believed in his vision, but that did not put him or turn him off.

On the other hand he was striving to render a firm position to his own company. Here he developed a unique pair of goggles where the lens was curved in the form of a cylinder perfectly. There were many skeptics who doubted his caliber but then this new product's quality was tested by many and approved when found out that the clarity and peripheral view provided by the product is absolutely excellent.
This was a very big boost for the so called mad scientist and he got the impetus to go back to his lab and work more on new products. He then started on working over sports glasses that needed to be reinvented in a completely new way. Very few people thought that the inventions could actually threaten the position of big boys in the sunglass industry.
But he had to prove everyone wrong and he came up with "eyeshades". This was a design that grew in popularity slowly, it was a mere style accessory for some time and then amazingly it turned into vital equipment for the protection and convenience of the eyes.
